Electronic-warfare specialists at the Gyumri base will suppress the communication channels of a simulated enemy
The military personnel of electronic warfare (EW) units of the military base of the Southern Military District in the Republic of Armenia will practice suppressing communication channels of a simulated enemy. According to the press service of the Southern Military District, EW specialists will march to Alagyaz, a high-altitude training area, where they will carry out a number of special tasks: deployment of electronic-warfare equipment, locating electronic radiation sources and jamming communications using the advanced EW complexes available to them.
The training will focus on the use of advanced electronic-warfare equipment in mountain gorges.
The military personnel will also be tasked to collect and analyse intelligence information from the received electromagnetic radiation and, by jamming it, to disrupt simulated enemy’s communications system by suppressing communications equipment. While marching, the troops will practice covering a vehicle convoy: the specialists will establish a safe route for the convoy’s passage by jamming radio communication lines using command-fire mines.
