The Republic of Serbia hosted the opening of a joint Russian-Serbian tactical counter-terrorism exercise.
The exercise, which will last until May 25, 2021, will involve special operations units of the two countries.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, the exercise will include airdrop using Arbalet parachute systems, approaching an illegal armed formation, blocking and eliminating it.
It is also planned to conduct demonstrations and small-arms training.
The Russian side provided up to 200 servicemen and 11 pieces of equipment of Special Forces of the Western Military District for the exercise.
At the opening ceremony the sides noted the importance of joint military training for the development of counter-terrorism cooperation between special operations units of Russian and Serbian Armed Forces.
As you may recall, the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia has been an observer in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization since 2013 and the delegation of the National Assembly actively participates in the work of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly.
