On May 7, Kazakhstan celebrates the Defender of the Fatherland Day.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic, congratulated the Kazakh people on the holiday and noted that the activities to increase professional training and implement modernization of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan will continue.
"This holiday is crucial for strengthening the values of peace and tranquility in our country. The fulfillment of military duty clearly reflects true patriotism, because selfless service to the Fatherland and the people is a sacred duty of every responsible citizen," Mr. Tokayev stated.
Today, solemn events in honor of the defenders of the Fatherland, including parades, concerts, historical reconstructions, lessons for schoolchildren, exhibitions and laying flowers at military monuments and memorials, are held all over the country.
As you may recall, in 2024, the Collective Security Treaty Organization is chaired by the Republic of Kazakhstan. On June 3, Almaty will host a meeting of the Council of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly.
