Ulan Primov Spoke of Importance to Coordinate CSTO Actions Concerning the Afghanistan Situation
Ulan Primov, Chairman of the Kyrgyz Republic’s Jogorku Kenesh Committee on International Affairs, Defence, Security and Migration, speaking at a session of the Coordination Meeting of Chairpersons of Committees on Defence and Security of the Parliaments of the CSTO Member States under the CSTO PA Council on Tuesday, said that CSTO’s actions concerning the situation in Afghanistan need to be coordinated.
“One of the factors in ensuring regional security remains the situation in Afghanistan. The Kyrgyz side has consistently expressed interest in a stable Afghanistan and calls for stepping up efforts to integrate it into global and regional processes as soon as possible,” Mr Primov noted.
Peace and stability in Afghanistan are a priority for Kyrgyzstan, as well as for other CSTO countries, to ensure regional security, he said.
