On the 75th anniversary of the Victory over Nazism in world war II, we continue the story of the Heroes of the Soviet Union
On the 75th anniversary of the Victory over Nazism in the Second World War, we continue the story of the Heroes of the Soviet Union representing the Collective Security Treaty Organization Member States.
The peoples of the Soviet Union gave up more than 27 million lives to make their decisive contribution to the Victory. Hundreds of thousands of our soldiers died liberating the countries of Europe from Nazi yoke.
In his speech at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Vladimir Putin, Chairman of the CSTO Collective Security Council and President of the Russian Federation, said: “Our veterans fought for life – against death. And we will always look up to them in their unity and steadfastness.
We are united by a common memory and common hopes, our common aspirations, our responsibility for the present and future. We know and strongly believe that we are invincible – when we are together.”
In his message of congratulations on Victory Day, Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation and Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, said: “We are all eternally indebted to the participants in the Great Patriotic War and homefront workers. Their feat is an example for all of us.”
On the anniversary of the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory, we continue the story of the Heroes of the Great Patriotic War from the former republics of the Soviet Union that are now the CSTO Member States.
We remember with pride! video:
