Astana hosted the 23rd meeting of the CSTO Interstate Commission for Military and Economic Cooperation (ICMEC).
The participants discussed the implementation progress of the decisions of ICMEC’s 22nd meeting, which took place last September in Bishkek.
In addition, the meeting agenda covered a review of further development areas for military and economic cooperation in the CSTO format. These include the organization of personnel training for defence industry enterprises and agencies of the CSTO Member States, creating an interstate system for cataloging armed forces supply items, and ensuring mutual protection of rights to the intellectual products obtained and used in the course of military and economic cooperation within the CSTO.
The Commission adopted relevant decisions on all the issues on the meeting agenda, including a decision to hold the 2nd CSTO Military and Economic Conference in Minsk in 2026, to summarize the Commission's work over the 20 years and outline tasks for the near future.
