The CSTO Secretary General met with the President of the Kyrgyz Republic in Bishkek
A meeting was held in Bishkek between CSTO Secretary General Taalatbek Masadykov and President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, according to the CSTO website.
On April 15, the parties discussed current issues of international politics in the context of strengthening security in the CSTO area of responsibility, emphasized the extreme importance of establishing peace in the Middle East, and expressed hope for the successful progress of negotiations between the Iranian and US delegations.
The importance of Afghanistan's transformation into a peaceful and stable state was highlighted, and the focus of official Kabul on countering the existing challenges and threats in the country was noted. In this regard, Taalatbek Masadykov provided information on the progress of the Collective Security Treaty Organization's Targeted Interstate Program for Strengthening the Tajik-Afghan Border.
The Secretary-General of the Organization shared details about the implementation of the Action Plan for the November (2025) session of the CSTO Collective Security Council and other matters.
Taalatbek Masadykov also informed about the intensification of the CSTO activities in the analytical field, including the International Scientific and Practical Conference scheduled for April 27, 2023, in Moscow, on the topic: "Outlines of the New Collective Security Architecture: Current Issues of the CSTO Information and Analytical Partnership," with the participation of leading experts from the Organization's member states.
Sadyr Japarov made a number of proposals for improving joint work and assured of the Kyrgyz side's readiness to comprehensively strengthen cooperation within the CSTO format.
