Today, on October 23, the Coordination Meeting of Chairpersons of Committees (Commissions) on Defence and Security of the Parliaments of the CSTO Member States under the CSTO PA Council started in Dushanbe, chaired by Gennady Lepeshko, Chairman of the Permanent Commission of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus.
The meeting participants will discuss the results of Kyrgyzstan's chairmanship of the Collective Security Treaty Organization in 2025, the current military and political situation in the Eastern European region of the CSTO collective security, issues of countering international terrorism and extremism, ensuring public security, combating drug trafficking and illegal migration, the state of border security and customs control, as well as protection against man-made and natural disasters.
In addition, upcoming joint exercises with the CSTO Troops (Collective Forces) in 2026 and the draft work plan of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly for 2027 will be discussed.
