On April 27, MGIMO University of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted the International scientific and practical conference "The Outlines of a New Collective Security Architecture: Current Issues of the CSTO Information and Analytical Partnership."
Representatives of the expert and academic communities of the CSTO, CIS and SCO Member States, as well as heads of specialized agencies and international organizations took part in the event.
Taalatbek Masadykov, CSTO Secretary General, speaking at the plenary session, stressed the need to create a Eurasian analytical platform as a tool for ongoing expert dialogue and implementation of joint projects with the use of modern technologies.
Anatoly Vyborny, deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation and Chairman of the CSTO PA Permanent Commission on Defence and Security, briefed his colleagues on the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly's work on harmonizing the national legislation of the Organization’s Member States. He pointed out that this year marks the 20th anniversary of the CSTO PA. Throughout the years, 104 model acts on defence and security have been adopted by the Assembly.
SergeI Pospelov, Executive Secretary of the CSTO PA, in his speech drew attention to the unprecedented rise of global tensions. To address modern challenges, he called for deepening interparliamentary and scientific-expert cooperation.
Mikhail Krotov, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation to the CSTO PA, emphasized that "the CSTO information and analytical platform must have a single methodological foundation."
"The Recommended Glossary of Terms and Definitions of CSTO Member States, which was adopted by the CSTO PA in 2023 and contains definitions of 340 concepts in the field of national and international security, will be of great help for the platform developers," Mikhail Krotov noted.
Following the discussions, conference participants adopted an Address to the expert and scientific communities of the the CSTO, CIS and SCO Member States.
The Address declares the irreversibility of the process of forming a polycentric world order and strengthening intercivilizational dialogue within the Global Majority.
