On March 3, a working meeting took place in Minsk between representatives of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly and the Armed Forces of Belarus.
The parties discussed issues of information and analytical support for collective security and parliamentary monitoring of the military and political situation in the CSTO collective security regions, exchanged views on the progress of military and political situation in the Eastern European region and identified possible ways of further cooperation, including cooperation within the framework of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly's Action Plan for the Approximation and Harmonization of National Legislation of the CSTO Member States for 2026-2030.
The meeting concluded with the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Research Institute of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus and the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly Secretariat.
"This is a systematic effort to establish cooperation with leading scientific and specialized universities in the CSTO Member States to expand analytical activities within the framework of national priorities announced by Russia for 2026, and earlier by Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan during their chairmanship of the CSTO. This work makes a significant contribution to the legal component of ensuring national, collective and regional security, as well as helping to neutralize the entire spectrum of contemporary challenges and threats and strengthen the sovereignty of the allied states within the CSTO and CIS formats," said Vyacheslav Kocharyan, Secretary of the CSTO PA Legal Centre for Information and Analysis.
