Pushkin Readings, a CIS International Parliamentary Forum, Takes Place in Moscow
On June 15, the State Duma of the Russian Federation hosts an international CIS parliamentary forum Pushkin Readings dedicated to the Year of the Russian Language as a lingua franca.
“The Russian language is lingua franca used by the brotherly countries. It helps us understand each other better,” said Edward Dzhambazyan, Counsellor of the Embassy of Armenia in Russia, who participates in the Pushkin Readings.
The Pushkin Readings are held on June 15-16; the participants deliver lectures, and the delegates from the CIS countries meet with representatives of the State Duma, scientific and expert community.
As you may recall, 2023 has been declared the Year of the Russian Language. The Russian language is an official language of the CSTO, a language of interethnic and intercultural communication. Among other things, Russian is the language of military exercises conducted in Collective Security Treaty Organization Member States.
