Stanislav ZAS, CSTO Secretary General, met with Colonel General Anatoly SIDOROV, Head of the CSTO Joint Staff, Sergei POSPELOV, CSTO PA Executive Secretary, and plenipotentiary representatives of the parliaments of the CSTO PA Member States in the CSTO Joint Staff.
Meeting participants discussed the specific matters that the CSTO Secretariat and the Joint Staff of the Organization intend to propose to include in the CSTO PA 2021–2025 Model Lawmaking Action Plan.
CSTO PA Executive Secretary Sergei POSPELOV supported the proposal of CSTO Secretary General Stanislav ZAS to foster cooperation, including among experts of the CSTO statutory bodies.
The goal of the meeting was to join efforts to successfully implement the CSTO tasks, including the Russian Federation’s priorities for 2020.
The CSTO PA Executive Secretary called on those present to take part in the formation of the CSTO PA 2021–2025 Model Lawmaking Action Plan and to promote model legislative acts adopted by the Assembly. In his speech, he noted the results of the CSTO PA in other important areas of cooperation, in particular, the formation of the Single List of Terrorist Organizations.
The parties discussed the drafting of digital security model legislative acts, capacity building of the CSTO forces and other issues of mutual interest.
Sergei POSPELOV told the participants of the meeting about the plans to broaden cooperation with international organizations, such as SCO, OSCE, Inter-Parliamentary Union and others, as well as with states interested in partnership with or observer status in the CSTO, paying special attention to the CSTO PA’s preparation plans to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Victory.
The meeting participants visited the CSTO Crisis Response Centre.
