The CSTO Countries Discussed Biological Security Issues in St Petersburg
The Third meeting of the Coordination Council of Authorised Bodies of the CSTO Member States on Biological Security was held in St Petersburg under the chairmanship of Anna Popova, Head of Rospotrebnadzor.
Anna Popova noted that “the challenges of biological security in the common epidemiological space” can be defended only together.
“With joint efforts we can uphold our biological sovereignty and ensure well-being and health of our citizens. Collective security in the CSTO space directly depends on joint effective work,” Ms Popova emphasized.
The meeting resulted in the approval of the 2024–2025 Cooperation Action Plan.
As you may recall, the Coordination Council was established in 2021 and meets for the third time under the chairmanship of Rospotrebnadzor. It is also attended by representatives of the Secretariat of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly.
On December 19, the meeting of the CSTO PA Council in Moscow will consider the Recommendations on the Regulation of Biological Security of the CSTO Member States.
