In particular, Sergei Pospelov, CSTO PA Acting Executive Secretary, held working meetings “on the move” with Ararat Mirzoyan, President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, and Mahmadsaid Ubaydulloyev, Chairman of the National Assembly of the Supreme Assembly of the Republic of Tajikistan.
In his speech at the Forum, Mahmadsaid Ubaydulloyev, Chairman of the National Assembly of the Supreme Assembly of the Republic of Tajikistan, stressed that the processes of globalization objectively demanded the formation of a new form of inter-parliamentary cooperation: “Modern parliamentarism, as the most democratic institution of people’s representation... is called to promote on a legal basis the progressive development of society worldwide, to unite efforts to solve global issues and eliminate threats and challenges that trouble the international community,” noted Mr Ubaydulloyev.
He called for solving issues of the global order together: “Tajikistan, as an equal member of the global community, has always been the most active supporter of the policy aimed at strengthening multilateral cooperation, implementation of comprehensive trust-building measures in political, economic, environmental and humanitarian spheres through constructive dialogue,” Mahmadsaid Ubaydulloyev concluded.
In his speech, Ararat Mirzoyan, President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, noted the increasing role of parliaments in matters of international relations and noted the Russian Federation’s return to PACE. “I am sure that the efficient and well-coordinated work of all delegations will bear its fruits,” he said.
This year, over 800 representatives of 132 states take part in the Forum. Delegations from 14 international parliamentary organizations, including the CSTO PA, are working in Moscow.
