Serbia Says It Values Cooperation with the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly
On the eve of the snap parliamentary elections in Serbia, international observers from the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly met with Igor Braunovic, Chairman of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Russia.
He noted that the Friendship Group with Russia is the largest one in the Serbian Parliament and it includes representatives of both ruling and opposition parties.
The Serbian side thanked the international observers who arrived in Belgrade on a monitoring mission, including the CSTO parliamentarians, for the fruitful cooperation.
The meeting noted that today it is more important than ever to continue the continuous interparliamentary cooperation and to maintain permanent contacts of the parliamentary friendship groups.
On November 1, Aleksandar Vučić, President of Serbia, announced the dissolution of the National Assembly (unicameral national parliament) and set the date of early elections for December 17. On the same day, local elections will be held in 65 cities and municipalities, including the Serbian capital Belgrade.
