On September 26, Tajikistan celebrates the Day of Majlisi Oli – the Parliament of the Republic of Tajikistan.
This date was established as part of amendments to the Law of the Republic on Public Holidays in 2023.
Recently, the scientific and practical conference “Constitution as a guarantor of protection of human and civil rights and freedoms” has started in Dushanbe. It is attended by representatives of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly.
The participants of the conference in the Parliament will present reports on the role of the Constitution in strengthening and developing the statehood of Tajikistan, on the constitutional and legal foundations of ensuring national security of Tajikistan and other legal aspects.
In July 2024, the opening ceremony of the new complex of buildings of the Parliament and the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan took place. Emomali Rahmon, Head of State, gave an official start to the work of the two modern constructions and emphasized that the new buildings “possess the best conditions for the work of the two key authorities – Majlisi Oli and the Government of the Republic".
The Government building comprises working offices of the Government of Tajikistan, Executive Office of the President, subordinate departments and structures, a hall for meetings of the Government for 150 seats, halls for 50 and 80 seats, working offices, a large hall for 1000 seats, 3 conference halls, rooms for reception of citizens, printing house, archive and other premises. The total height of the central building is 91.5 meters.
In early October, the Parliament of Tajikistan will host an International Inter-parliamentary Conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Constitution of Tajikistan; it will be attended by representatives of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly.
