Vasily Piskarev: We are open to exchange experience on countering foreign interference, including on a bilateral basis
In response to the CSTO Member States’ parliamentarians’ requests, the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Commission on the Investigation of Foreign Interference in Russia’s Internal Affairs sent to the Secretariat of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly materials confirming instances of Western countries’ interference in the Russian Federation’s national policy, reports the website of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.
Vasily Piskarev, Chairman of the Commission and Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Security and Corruption Control, added, “We sent to our partners captured frame videos and scanned copies of documents of undesirable foreign NGOs on such topics as interference in elections, “colour revolution” technology training and methods of gathering secret or otherwise classified information in the post-Soviet area, interference in drug policy, propaganda of drugs and distortion of history.”
According to Vasily Piskarev, the materials also contain “information requested by partners on the legislative responses to these challenges and threats developed by the Commission.”
Furthermore, in its letter the Commission reiterated, “We are open to exchange experience on countering foreign interference, including on a bilateral basis”.
