Victoria Abramchenko: Everything for Objective Coverage of the Elections Has Been Provided
On January 26, observers from the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly are actively involved in monitoring presidential elections in Belarus. The delegation, headed by Victoria Abramchenko, Deputy Chairman of the Russian State Duma, began its work in Minsk with the opening of polling stations at 8:00.
Victoria Abramchenko noted that all the necessary conditions have been put in place for objective coverage of all stages of the election campaign.
“Hundreds of journalists, including representatives of major U.S., European and Middle Eastern agencies, have been accredited. Transparency and publicity of the campaign is at a high level. I am confident that Western countries will not be able to distort the situation in their favor,” said Victoria Abramchenko.
As you may recall, 486 international observers are accredited for the presidential election in Belarus. These are representatives of the IPA CIS, the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, the SCO, the Pan-African Parliament, the Secretariat of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia, the Non-Aligned Movement Youth Organization, the electoral bodies of foreign states, as well as independent observers. A total of 52 states are represented by international observers. These are countries of the African continent, Latin America, Asia, the CIS space, as well as 17 European states.
