Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, held a telephone conversation with Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia.
According to Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the Russian President, the telephone conversation between Vladimir Putin and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on the de-escalation of the conflict on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border is being followed up by thorough expert work.
“Last night there was a telephone conversation with Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan. They discussed the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, the serious escalation that has occurred there. Following this conversation, experts are now working intensively, I will not say more at the moment. We will inform you as we receive the results of this work,” Dmitry Peskov said.
Citing Yuri Ushakov, assistant to the Russian President, Sputnik informs that “the September 16 meeting of the presidents of Russia and Azerbaijan on the margins of the SCO summit in Samarkand will be important in light of the new aggravation of the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.”
An online CSTO summit is expected to take place around 6:30 p.m. in connection with the aggravation at the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, the precise time is being finalized, added Yuri Ushakov, assistant to the President of the Russian Federation.
