Special tactical exercise Sary-Tash 2019 was completed in Osh region of the Kyrgyz Republic on July 20.
The Border Guard Service, the Ministry of Interior, the State Committee for National Security and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as air fleet of the Kant United Air Base of the CSTO Collective Rapid Deployment Forces took part in the exercises.
The exercise practiced resettlement of civilians from the border area, elimination of militants and hostage rescue.
“Strengthening national security is the main direction of the country’s domestic and foreign policy,” Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov said at the closing ceremony of the exercises. Most countries actively contribute to the fight against international terrorism and extremism within various organizations and unions, he added. “In this fight, our republic has joined the ranks of other countries and the international community. Kyrgyzstan’s participation in the UN, SCO and CSTO enhances the overall potential of all states to meet current challenges and threats,” said Mr Jeenbekov.
