June 12 is Russia Day

June 12 marks Russia Day, symbolizing the state’s centuries-long historical journey, the unbreakable bond between generations, the richness of its spiritual culture and the unity of the multi-ethnic people of the Russian Federation.

Russia plays a key role in the Eurasian security architecture. As one of the founding states of the CSTO, the Russian Federation makes an immense contribution to strengthening allied cooperation, ensuring peace and stability in the region, and developing efficient joint mechanisms for countering international terrorism, extremism and other contemporary challenges.

Active and constructive work of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation holds particular value in the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly. Due to high professionalism of Russian parliamentarians and their commitment to constructive dialogue, the Member States of the Organization successfully harmonize defence and security national legislations, creating a reliable legal framework for the protection of common interests.

As you may recall, in 2026, Russia chairs the Collective Security Treaty Organization, maintaining a consistent policy toward deepening integration and expanding strategic partnerships with other international organizations, such as the CIS and the SCO.
