June 12 is Russia Day

On 12 June, Russia celebrates one of the main holidays - Russia Day. 

This significant celebration for all Russians is associated with the adoption of the Declaration of State Sovereignty in 1990.

Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin congratulated citizens on the holiday. 

"Happy Russia Day! We have in our country hard-working people, talented, the most heroic. We will definitely overcome all challenges and problems together!" - he noted. 

Today the centre of celebrations will be the Kremlin. Russian President Vladimir Putin will present the "Heroes of Labour" stars, as well as award laureates of state prizes in science and technology, literature and art, for outstanding achievements in humanitarian activities, charity and human rights.
