On February 23, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan celebrate Defender of the Fatherland Day, a symbol of courage, selflessness, patriotism, and unwavering service to the Fatherland.
Aleksandr Lukashenko, President of Belarus, congratulated the country’s servicemen and veterans.
"For centuries, our country has honored soldiers who took up arms to defend it in difficult times. They sacrificed themselves for the freedom and independence of their Fatherland. 85 years ago, during the dark years of the Nazi invasion, it was no different," stressed the Belarusian leader.
Vladimir Putin, President of Russia, also addressed the country with a congratulatory speech. He called February 23 one of the most revered state holidays, underlining that this day has become a symbol of the nation's love for the defenders of the Fatherland and its pride for the army and the navy.
In his congratulatory message, Emomali Rahmon, President of Tajikistan, wished all servicemen, veterans of the National Army, and the country's security forces good health, prosperity, as well as unshakable strength and strong will in defending the Fatherland.
