On May 28, Armenia celebrates a national holiday – the Republic Day. The date marks the founding of the First Republic of Armenia in 1918.
The historical basis for establishing the holiday lies in the events of May 1918, when the Armenian National Council in Tiflis adopted the Declaration of Independence. On this day, a parade is scheduled to take place on Republic Square in Yerevan. At the parade, weapons acquired over the past four years will be displayed.
Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister of Armenia, announced that at the parade the servicemen will march in new uniforms – both field and ceremonial. In addition, the Armenian Air Force will perform a ceremonial flyover around the center of Yerevan from 10:00 to 11:00.
