3 September is National Guard Day in the Republic of Tajikistan

Today, on September 3, the Republic of Tajikistan celebrates National Guard Day, the professional holiday of one of the country’s key law enforcement agencies.

This independent special military unit reports directly to Emomali Rahmon, President of the Republic, and carries out national security tasks and those aimed at ensuring the country’s internal stability.

The National Guard of Tajikistan, formed in 1995 and originally called the Presidential Guard, is now an elite unit.

The Guard regularly takes part in domestic parades and international exercises, honing its skills in responding swiftly to crisis situations.

Developing and strengthening the professional capacity of Tajikistan’s security forces is vital for maintaining law and order within the country, and it is a significant contribution to ensuring overall stability in the Central Asian region.
