31 August Is Independence Day in Kyrgyzstan

On 31 August, the Kyrgyz Republic celebrates a national holiday, Independence Day.

President Sadyr Japarov has received numerous greetings from the heads of the CSTO Member States and leaders of other countries. The official messages highlight the Republic’s high standing on the international stage and its significant role in maintaining regional stability.

In his congratulatory message, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that Kyrgyzstan is successfully overcoming its social and economic challenges while steadily strengthening its international standing.

"Relations between our two countries are developing dynamically in the spirit of strategic partnership and alliance. Moscow and Bishkek cooperate fruitfully across a range of areas and actively engage with one another through the CSTO, the Eurasian Economic Community, the CIS, the SCO, and other multilateral organisations. And we will, of course, continue to work very closely together at the bilateral, regional, and international levels," Vladimir Putin emphasized.

Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister of Armenia, praised Kyrgyzstan’s achievements in socio-economic development and infrastructure modernization.

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko also sent his congratulations to his Kyrgyz counterpart. 

"This celebration symbolizes the sovereign choice of the Kyrgyz people and their commitment to pursuing socio-economic growth, strengthening statehood, and improving the citizens' well-being," Aleksandr Lukashenko underlined.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kazakhstan, highlighted the large-scale reforms aimed at improving the well-being of the people of Kyrgyzstan. 

"This momentous date reflects the Kyrgyz people's aspiration for freedom, sovereignty and independence. Over the years, Kyrgyzstan has successfully navigated the challenging path from nation-building to sustainable development, strengthened its statehood, preserved its rich cultural heritage, and earned respect on the world stage," the congratulatory message reads.

Emomali Rahmon, President of Tajikistan, in his greeting wished Kyrgyzstan peace, happiness, development and prosperity.
