June 4 marks the Birthday of the State Symbols of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
It was on this day in 1992 that new state symbols of independent Kazakhstan were approved.
The blue flag with a golden sun and soaring silhouette of an eagle and the coat of arms with the image of a shanyrak in the center became the main symbols of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The holiday was officially introduced by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan № 337 of 2007 “On making an addition to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan from January 20, 1998 № 382 ‘On professional and other holidays in the Republic of Kazakhstan’.
