Aleksandr Goroshkin: Kazakhstan Is Ready for the Large-Scale Constitutional Reforms
Aleksandr Goroshkin, member of the Permanent Commission on International Affairs and National Security of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, praised the exceptionally high level of organization at the referendum in Kazakhstan.
"It was extremely important for us to see with our own eyes how the citizens of Kazakhstan are exercising their right to determine the country’s future. I can confidently say that what we’ve seen at the polling stations in Astana and the Akmola region shows the highest level of organization culture. The entire process, from the publication of the Presidential Decree on February 11 to the vote count, was conducted in strict accordance with national legislation and international standards. Moreover, Kazakhstan has set a very high bar for the digitalization of the electoral process. I'd like to commend the members of the precinct election commissions for their work. It was evident that these individuals have undergone serious training; they strictly followed the instructions while maintaining a friendly atmosphere at the polling stations, even when there was an influx of voters," Aleksandr Goroshkin emphasized.
Aleksandr Goroshkin is a member of the CSTO PA group of observers. Parliamentarians from Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan will monitor the voting process until the polling stations' closing time.
