Aleksandr Pankin: We Highly Value the Role of Interparliamentary Cooperation Within the CSTO
On February 13, Aleksandr Pankin, deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, addressed the 5th meeting of the Chairmen of the Committees on International Affairs, Defence and Security in Moscow.
The diplomat outlined key priorities of the Russian Federation's chairmanship of the CSTO in 2026.
According to him, the primary focus of Russia's chairmanship is strengthening foreign policy coordination between the Organization's Member States and furthering constructive dialogue with international organizations and third countries for maintaining peace and strategic stability in the Eurasian region.
The main message of the speech was Russia's intention to build on the existing policies and strengthen allied relations within the Organization.
In his report, deputy Foreign Minister paid special attention to strengthening the CSTO's military potential. Aleksandr Pankin stressed the need to develop the aviation sector and achieve technological leadership in the defence industry.
