Victoria Abramchenko: Parliamentary Dialogue is a Cornerstone of Collective Security
On February 13, the State Duma of the Russian Federation is hosting the 5th meeting of the Chairmen of the Committees and Commissions of the Parliaments of the CSTO Member States. The meeting focuses on international affairs, defence and security.
Victoria Abramchenko, deputy Deputy Chairwoman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, in her speech stressed the importance of the parliamentary dimension in strengthening the collective security architecture.
According to the deputy Chairwoman, this format of cooperation plays a decisive role in aligning the positions of CSTO Member States.
"Meetings such as today's improve coordination between our countries on security issues on the Eurasian continent and bring us closer to a just multipolar world," Victoria Abramchenko underlined.
The meeting participants are working on developing mechanisms for joint response to modern challenges and threats, as well as methods for strengthening parliamentary diplomacy.
