Alexey Chepa: Elections Were Held in Strict Accordance with Kyrgyzstan's Legislation
Elections in the Kyrgyz Republic were held in full compliance with national legislation and existing procedures, as stated by Alexey Chepa, member of the group of observers from the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, deputy of the Russian State Duma, summarizing the results of the mission.
According to the parliamentarian, the observers did not discover any significant violations at the polling stations that could have affected the results. Particular attention was paid to respecting the citizens' electoral rights and transparency of vote counting.
"Our groups worked in both Bishkek and Moscow," Alexey Chepa said. "At every station we visited, the electoral process proceeded calmly, openly and in an organized manner. The election commissions strictly followed the norms of the Kyrgyz Republic's electoral legislation, and all disputes, if they arose, were resolved within the legal framework."
The parliamentarian also emphasized that the high level of organization of the campaign and election day itself prove the maturity of Kyrgyzstan's electoral system.
