Alisher Erbayev Appointed Deputy Chairman of the SCNS and Director of the SCNS Anti-Terrorism Center of the Kyrgyz Republic
Sadyr Japarov, President of the Kyrgyz Republic, signed a decree appointing Alisher Erbayev deputy Chairman of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS). Alisher Erbayev also assumed the post of head of the SCNS Anti-Terrorism Center.
The decision regarding his appointment was announced by the President's press service on February 10.
Alisher Erbayev has vast experience in regional security and interparliamentary cooperation.
As a member of the 7th convocation of the Jogorku Kenesh, he played a vital role in the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly's work, being involved in monitoring political processes within the Collective Security Treaty Organization. In particular, Alisher Erbayev was part of the work of international election observer groups in CSTO countries, as well as the development of recommendations on countering external threats and ensuring the collective security of the Organization's Member States.
Experts note that his experience working in CSTO structures will allow the new deputy Chairman of the SCNS to effectively build cooperation with partners on the anti-terrorism agenda and strengthen mechanisms for responding to modern challenges.
For reference. Alisher Erbayev was born in 1973 in the Jalal-Abad region of Kyrgyzstan. He holds a military degree (graduated from the Military Academy of Field Anti-Aircraft Defence in Russia) and a law degree. Before joining Parliament, he held various positions in security forces, including State Committee for National Security, which makes his return to the agency a a natural progression of his career.
