Anatoly Vyborny: CSTO Focuses on the Military Component of Collective Security
Anatoly Vyborny, deputy of the State Duma, Chairman of the CSTO PA Permanent Commission on Defence and Security, summarized the results of the meeting of the CSTO PA Council’s Expert Advisory Board.
"A number of documents aimed at harmonizing national legislation on collective security were reviewed. In particular, experts have started working on a model law 'On the Fundamentals of Operational and Investigative Work' to further the joint fight against international terrorism and drug trafficking. A model law on combating the illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors is also under development," Anatoly Vyborny reported.
He stressed that special attention was paid to harmonizing approaches in the digital environment.
"We are developing unified approaches to creating and improving artificial intelligence (AI) management systems in the field of information security. One of the pressing tasks is the development of national cybersecurity systems," Anatoly Vyborny explained.
According to him, the draft documents are aimed at synchronizing the approaches of the CSTO Member States and creating conditions for prompt cooperation in the face of growing challenges.
"For more effective threat forecasting, we are developing Recommendations on Analytical and Methodological Support for Strategic Security Planning," Vyborny emphasized.
As you may recall, the meeting took place at the headquarters of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly in St. Petersburg yesterday, March 26.
