Vyacheslav Volodin and Marlen Mamataliev Discuss the Development of Interparliamentary Dialogue between Russia and Kyrgyzstan
Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation and Chairman of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, and Marlen Mamataliev, Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh of Kyrgyzstan, met in Moscow.
Marlen Mamataliev paid a visit to Russia at the invitation of Vyacheslav Volodin.
During the meeting, the Chairmans discussed issues related to the development of Russian-Kyrgyz interparliamentary dialogue.
Vyacheslav Volodin noted that the pace of bilateral relations is set by the leaders of Russia and Kyrgyzstan—Vladimir Putin and Sadyr Japarov.
"For our part, we must do everything in our power to ensure that the agreements reached are legally implemented, and to make a contribution that would serve as extra impetus for the development of our relations," Vyacheslav Volodin said.
"The Russian Federation is the Kyrgyz Republic’s main ally and strategic partner," Marlen Mamataliev emphasized. "We highly value our cordial relations, which are rooted in full mutual understanding, trust and shared historical, strategic and cultural ties."
Marlen Mamataliyev pointed out that the cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Russia within multilateral parliamentary structures, including the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly and the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, plays a particularly important role.
"I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Russian side for supporting Kyrgyzstan’s chairmanship of the CSTO in 2025. And I wish success to Russia, which has taken up the mantle," he said.
The meeting also touched upon the countries' joint efforts to preserve historical memory and protect traditional values.
As you may recall, this is Marlen Mamataliev’s first foreign visit since his election as Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic on February 12, 2026.
