Andrei Kartapolov, Chairman of the Committee on Defence of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, summarized the work of the international observer group from the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly at the elections in the Republic of Tajikistan on March 2.
“I would like to note the high level of organization at all polling stations that we visited, as well as good training of members of precinct election commissions. And, most importantly, I cannot but emphasize the general positive attitude of the Tajik people. Tajikistan is our strategic partner, the closest to us in Central Asia”, said Andrei Kartapolov.
The parliamentarian congratulated the people of Tajikistan on successful elections and wished the state further prosperity.
As you may recall, on March 2, elections of deputies to the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli (Parliament) of the Republic were held in Tajikistan. They were recognized as valid.
The Central Election Commission reported that no complaints, claims or appeals were received during the voting.
