Emomali Rahmon Honours Tajik Parliament Speakers with State Awards

On August 28, at the Palace of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, presided over a formal ceremony to award state honours, marking the 35th anniversary of the country’s independence.

High state honours were conferred upon the Speakers of Parliament and members of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly Council Rustami Emomali and Faizali Idizoda, and other prominent statesmen. 

Rustami Emomali, Chairman of the Majlisi Milli of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, was awarded the Order of Ismoili Somoni, I degree. Additionally, a group of former deputies from the historic 16th session of Tajikistan's Supreme Council was commended for their contribution to the development of parliamentarism in the country.

In his congratulatory speech, the President highlighted the country's major achievements in state-building. He underscored that, owing to the patriotic efforts of citizens and entrepreneurs, more than 35,300 facilities for various purposes have been built and commissioned by the independence anniversary, dramatically improving the appearance of cities and the population's quality of life.

A total of 162 people were honoured at the ceremony for their outstanding professional achievements and effective public service. Among them were science, culture,and healthcare professionals, as well as veterans of labour and entrepreneurs.

Closing the ceremony, Emomali Rahmon expressed confidence that the awardees would put their experience and knowledge to furthering Tajikistan's prosperity.
