Faizali Idizoda: CSTO is an Effective Tool for Ensuring Collective Security
Today, on April 20, a regular session of the Council of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization took place in Moscow.
The parliamentary delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan was headed by Faizali Idizoda, Speaker of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of Tajikistan.
In his speech, the Speaker of the Tajik Parliament expressed serious concern about the current international situation. According to him, the provisions and principles of the UN Charter, as well as the norms of international law, are often completely ignored in the modern world.
In this context, the Speaker of the Majlisi Namoyandagon reiterated Tajikistan’s unwavering commitment to peace.
"As our President, Mr. Emomali Rahmon, has pointed out, Tajikistan consistently advocates for a peaceful resolution of this crisis through negotiations, political and diplomatic means only," Faizali Idizoda emphasized.
The Speaker also noted that the CSTO is an effective and reliable tool for ensuring security and stability in its area of responsibility. Therefore, effective and all-round implementation of legal acts and decisions adopted within the framework of the Organization takes on particular significance.
Faizali Idizoda expressed confidence in successfully carrying out the CSTO’s activities planned for this year, particularly the large-scale joint military exercises.
The speaker paid special attention to promoting national initiatives within the Organization. In particular, he emphasized the importance of further work on establishing a regional Humanitarian Response Center in the Republic of Tajikistan.
In conclusion, the speaker added that interparliamentary cooperation, as well as model acts and recommendations adopted by the CSTO PA, play a crucial role in forming a reliable legal framework for actively countering modern challenges and threats.
