Marlen Mamataliev: Security of Our Countries Depends on Coordinated Efforts
At the meeting of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly Council in Moscow, the parliamentary delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic is led by Marlen Mamataliev, Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh. This is his first time participating in an Assembly event since his appointment as Chairman of the Kyrgyz Parliament.
In his speech, the Chairman pointed out that this year the Russian Federation is chairing the Organization under the motto "Collective security in a multipolar world: a common goal, a shared responsibility."
"We are well aware that peace and stability are key factors in interstate cooperation. With that in mind, we are aiming to introduce new mechanisms and tools that will help prevent emerging threats and minimize their negative consequences," Marlen Mamataliev noted.
In addition, he emphasized that the only way to resolve conflicts is through dialogue, diplomacy and respect for international law. "Therefore, we support efforts aimed at peacefully resolving disputes and restoring stability."
Marlen Mamataliev also addressed issues related to strengthening military capabilities and actively combating new threats, stressing the significant role of parliamentary diplomacy in these processes.
"It is parliaments that create the conditions for harmonizing national legislation, exchanging experience and developing common approaches. We are open to deepening cooperation in the military and technical, information and humanitarian spheres," the Chairman concluded.
