CSTO Secretary General Visits the Tajik-Afghan Border
Taalatbek Masadykov, CSTO Secretary General, paid a working visit to Tajikistan at the personal invitation of Emomali Rahmon, President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
During the trip, Taalatbek Masadykov assessed the situation along the southern part of the external border within the CSTO’s area of responsibility, visited border outposts and a checkpoint in the area covered by three border detachments, and inspected the progress of construction of a border road in the mountainous, hard-to-reach terrain near Shuroabad.
CSTO Secretary General discussed the progress of the CSTO Targeted Interstate Program on Strengthening the Tajik-Afghan Border with Lieutenant General Murodali Rajabzoda, 1st deputy Chairman and Commander of the Border Troops of the State Committee for National Security of the Republic of Tajikistan.
