“The efforts of all those who try to rewrite history and distort the truth about the victory are unacceptable,” said the Foreign Minister of Armenia Zohrab MNATSAKANYAN. According to RIA Novosti, he said this on November 10 in Yerevan, during the opening of the exhibition dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Victory, which was attended by the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
According to the Minister, May 9 is “our common celebration, our common memory of how we fought shoulder to shoulder and resolutely went to victory.” “This victory is a common achievement of all the peoples of the former Soviet Union, as well as the nations of the anti-Hitler coalition; it is a global celebration. Victory in the Great Patriotic War and World War II was a fight for the future of humanity,” Mr Mnatsakanyan said.
He added that in his family, as in other families, the memory of the victory is passed from generation to generation. “This memory does not allow forgetting the truth, the unbreakable brotherhood of our peoples, the unity and consolidation that made possible the victory over fascism,” said the Foreign Minister.
