On the eve of the CSTO PA Council meeting the heads of the parliamentary delegations of the CSTO Member States paid tribute to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War.
Speakers of the CSTO Member States' parliaments took part in a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Alexander Garden by the Kremlin.
The participants bowed their heads before the Eternal Flame and paid tribute to the soldiers who gave their lives for the freedom of their Motherland with a minute of silence. The solemn mournful event concluded with the Honor Guard marching to the sounds of a military band.
Preserving the historical memory of the Great Victory, protecting the truth about the Great Patriotic War and jointly countering any attempts to falsify history traditionally remain the most important factors uniting the CSTO Member States, and the priority areas of their work. The joint Victory and the heroic deeds of the brotherly peoples are a solid moral foundation for the development of allied relations and strengthening the collective security today.
The agenda for the upcoming session of the Council includes discussions of current challenges and threats to international and regional security, as well as issues related to further approximation and harmonization of the national legislations of the Organization’s Member States to ensure collective stability.
