Heads of Parliaments of the CSTO Countries Lay a Wreath at the Eternal Flame in Bishkek

Today, on the eve of the meeting of the Council of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO PA) in Bishkek, heads of parliaments of the CSTO Member States laid a wreath and flowers at the Eternal Flame, paying tribute to the memory of the fallen soldiers and officers who fought in the Great Patriotic War, honoring their heroic feet.

Parliamentarians from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan and Serbia bowed their heads in gratitude to those who gave their lives for peace and freedom of the future generations. 

Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation and Chairman of the CSTO PA, stressed that the meeting of the Council is taking place during the period of celebration of the 80th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, and urged everyone to jointly make efforts to preserve the memory of the great feat of the war heroes.

The wreath-laying ceremony has become an emotional prologue to the meeting of the CSTO PA Council, aimed at strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation and collective security.

Imangali Tasmagambetov, CSTO Secretary General, and Milovan Drecun, Head of the Defence and Internal Affairs Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Head of the Permanent Delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia to the CSTO PA, also took part in the ceremony.
