Imangali Tasmagambetov, the CSTO Secretary General, in the interview with NEWS.ru spoke about hybrid attacks on the Organization. However, according to Tasmagambetov, members of the CSTO manage to maintain positive relations.
"The CSTO is based on 'soft alliance', and the allies manage to maintain positive relations with each other despite the significant pressure each of them is facing to varying extents. The arising contradictions are usually rooted in long-standing issues and are not a consequence of Western policy, although the West often manages to stimulate conflict escalation," Imangali Tasmagambetov pointed out.
The CSTO Secretary General emphasized that the political will of the Member States' leaders and adherence to the principles and statutory objectives of the CSTO allow to resolve all issues as effectively as possible.
As you may recall, the Collective Security Treaty Organization brings together Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan. In 2025, the Organization is chaired by the Kyrgyz Republic. On May 19, the heads of parliaments of the CSTO Member States will meet in Bishkek at the regular Council of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly.
