Candidates for Presidential Elections in Belarus Presented their Programs to CSTO PA Observers
On January 24, CSTO PA international observers met with presidential candidates Anna Kanopatskaya, Oleg Gaidukevich, Oleksandr Khizhnyak and Yuri Senko, representative of Aleksandr Lukashenko, in Minsk.
The group was presented by Victoria Abramchenko, Coordinator of the monitoring mission from the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly and Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
At the meeting with the CSTO parliamentarians, Anna Kanopatskaya, presidential candidate and head of the Public Center for Legislative Initiatives, listed the main ideas of her program - preservation of independence and development of democracy in Belarus, strengthening of the country's sovereignty and protection of its national identity.
Oleg Gaidukevich, leader of the Liberal Democratic Party, emphasized the importance of Belarus' foreign policy. He noted that attempts to interfere in the internal affairs of the state are unacceptable. The candidate also spoke in favor of the union with Russia, CSTO, SCO, BRICS and other integration organizations.
Yuri Senko, head of the election headquarters of presidential candidate Aleksandr Lukashenko, shared the interim results of the feedback from future voters. According to him, all the issues of concern to the Belarusians are being systematized and will be shortly submitted to the head of state.
Oleksandr Khizhnyak, leader of the Republican Party of Labor and Justice, drew the observers' attention to the issues of security and sovereignty, ecology and youth potential.
Victoria Abramchenko, Coordinator of the monitoring mission from the CSTO PA, noted that the Organization's parliamentarians would assess presidential elections in Belarus objectively and impartially.
