Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Vladimir Putin Discussed Strengthening Strategic Alliance
On February 16, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and President of Russia Vladimir Putin held telephone talks.
President of Russia accepted the invitation from his Kazakh counterpart to pay a state visit to Kazakhstan at the end of May. Putin confirmed that he would attend a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Astana as part of his state visit.
The parties also discussed the development of Russian-Kazakh relations – the comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance.
As you may recall, a group of observers from the parliaments of the CSTO Member States, including Russia, will be formed in the nearest future to monitor the referendum on the adoption of the new Constitution of Kazakhstan on March 15, 2026.
