Konstantin Avershin: Kurultai Is Set to Become a Key Mechanism for Social Unity

On August 28, members of Kazakhstan's new unicameral Kurultai swore an oath of allegiance to the people of Kazakhstan. Konstantin Avershin, a member of the Adilet party, was the first to step up to the podium to take the oath.

"The first session of the first convocation of the Kurultai marks the beginning of a new phase in the country's political life," the parliamentarian told the press service of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly.

"In my view, the Kurultai's particular significance lies in providing a platform for open discussion of complex issues and for finding solutions that can unite society. Today, internal stability within the state directly depends on social unity. Given the growing information, hybrid, and other external challenges, this has become not just a matter of domestic policy, but a vital element of national and regional security," Konstantin Avershin emphasized. 

The parliamentarian said he was confident that Kazakhstan's experience in establishing such a mechanism for socio-political dialogue would also interest the country's partners across Eurasia.
