Latin American Parliamentarians Are Interested in CSTO PA's Model Lawmaking Experience
The first Russia-Latin America International Parliamentary Conference is taking place in Moscow from September 29 to October 2.

In his speech on the activities of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, SergeiPospelov, Executive Secretary of the CSTO PA, noted that the integration processes outlined within the framework of the developing process of multipolarity meet active opposition, and the CSTO is an important “security umbrella” of Eurasian integration processes.
“Taking into account the role of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly enshrined in the CSTO Charter, its most important activity is to promote the development of the legal framework,” Sergei Pospelov noted.
Parliamentarians from Latin America were interested in the model legislation of the CSTO PA.
In particular, they discussed the CSTO model laws On Countering Terrorism and Extremism Through Information and On Information Security, the Recommendations on Countering Terrorism at Fuel and Energy Facilities; Recommendations on Cutting Off Channels of International Terrorism; regulations on combating Nazism, harmonizing criminal legislation of the CSTO Member States and others.
As you may recall, the Russia-Latin America International Parliamentary Conference is the first large-scale parliamentary event designed to strengthen cooperation with the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean.
