On November 17 in Moscow, Sergei Lavrov, Russian Foreign Minister, and ambassadors of Central Asian countries discussed cooperation in the CA5 + Russia format and regional security issues, in particular cooperation within the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
The ambassadors of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan attended the meeting.
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the meeting gave a comprehensive assessment of Russia’s cooperation with each of the Central Asian states “both bilaterally and within the framework of common international organizations, including the CIS, EAEU, CSTO and SCO.”
The parties noted the mutual willingness to ensure conditions for the sustainable development of the entirety of strategic partnership, including the sphere of security and regional stability.
