Leonid Kalashnikov: The CSTO will ensure security of Kazakhstan’s infrastructure
Leonid Kalashnikov, member of the Standing Commission on Political Affairs and International Cooperation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization and Chairman of the Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, emphasized that the CSTO Collective Peacekeeping Forces will help to ensure security of Kazakhstan’s infrastructure. “The CSTO will mainly just ensure infrastructure security and so on,” stressed Leonid Kalashnikov.
“In accordance with the decision of the CSTO Collective Security Council adopted on January 6, 2022, Collective Peacekeeping Forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organization will be sent to the Republic of Kazakhstan for a limited period of time to stabilize and normalize the situation, reports the website of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
As you may recall, the CSTO Collective Peacekeeping Forces sent to the Republic of Kazakhstan under the decision of the CSTO Collective Security Council include units of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan.
