Pilots of the Russian Airbase in Armenia Passed Control Tests for the Winter Training Period
Servicemen of the military base of the Southern Military District (SMD) in Armenia have completed control tests for the winter training period, the Russian Ministry of Defence website informs.
Pilots of the Erebuni airbase have demonstrated aerobatics skills at different altitudes, including in high-altitude areas, while operational and tactical aviation pilots hit air targets and anti-aircraft defences of a simulated enemy and also prevented an air missile strike on the airfield.
Army aviation crews conducted blind reconnaissance in the dark and redeployed to an alternate airfield and provided fire support to troops at the Alagyaz high-altitude training ground.
Servicemen carried out live firing exercises with small arms and combat equipment, completed more than 100 standards of tactical, special, engineering, medical and physical training and radiation, chemical and biological protection.
Overall, the command of the base praised the level of combat training of the compound’s personnel and the state of its armaments and military equipment.
As you may recall, on November 2, 2022 parliamentarians of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Member States – representatives of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly Standing Committee on Political Affairs and International Cooperation – met with personnel of the Erebuni airbase, learned the airbase’s history and inspected its aviation equipment, talked to the personnel and attended training flights.
